Frequently given answers

SAIF Resolve is able to offer its clients a worldwide debt recovery service envied by its competitors.

Why use a collection agent?

A debtor will often pay a collection agent because they become anxious about the consequence of not paying. You are showing the debtor that you are serious about getting your money back and are prepared to take decisive action.

How does the debt recovery process work?

To begin, you need to submit instructions that you want us to recover the debt/s on your behalf. Instructions may be submitted on our pre printed ‘instruction forms’, email, fax or utilising a client’s existing documentation. Within 24 hours of receiving this information, we will make a telephone contact with the debtor or forward them a letter requesting payment within 7 days. Our trained negotiators will use this combination of impact letters and persistent phone calls to secure your funds are recovered in the shortest time possible.

How long will it take to collect a debt?

There are no exact answers to how long it will take to collect a debt because each debt is different, it may take a week or it may take a couple of months. We would suggest that if a debt has not been collected within 90 days to stop collection proceedings, we would however advise alternative methods if applicable.

Are there any hidden costs with no recovery, no fee?

No, if we are unable to recover your debt then we do not charge you. When debts are recovered, we would take a pre arranged commission percentage. There are no hidden administration or handling costs.

What if the debtor refuses to pay or disputes the debt?

If the debtor disputes the debt we will try to negotiate an amicable settlement on your behalf and provide them with verification of the debt, i.e. a copy invoice. If the debtor simply refuses to pay, we would review the situation to determine if litigation is advisable.

Why should I use a debt collection agent rather then a solicitor?

Using a debt collection agent rather then a solicitor will save you time and money. We only charge a fee if we are successful in recovering your debt and aim to do so within 90 days, however a solicitor will charge you an hourly rate and proceedings could take several months.

Taking a debtor straight to court does not guarantee success, you always run the risk of walking away with nothing but hefty litigation and court costs.

What if I no longer know the debtors whereabouts?

We offer comprehensive tracing services to track down absconded debtors. Some of the methods used are searching electoral registers, credit registers and known associates. If a debtor can be found, we will find them.

How long would it take to trace a debtor and how much does it cost?

On average, it takes approximately 4 weeks to trace a debtor. The cost for a trace is £35 +VAT for a positive trace.

What size debt do you collect?

We collect any size debt from tens of pounds to thousands; we have no minimum level of submission.
